Ceramics
About my
work: I draw my dog designs, either free hand or from photos. The dog
designs are then transferred to ceramic bisque and a pattern of my
creation is filled in around them. The design is painted using under
glaze and/or glaze (depending on the colors I want to use) and then
given a coat of food safe clear glaze before being fired in my studio
kiln. My ceramics decoration style is Mediterranean. This is a style that I find aesthetically pleasing
because of the colors and patterns and the dogs look wonderful mixed in
with it all. I am self-taught and learning all the time.
For instance, having the kiln in my studio opened up other
possibilities such as silver clay. With this clay, I create pendants
featuring the same dog designs that I use in my ceramics decoration (take a look at my jewelry). It is amazing the way
that one thing leads to another and I am excited to see where this path
takes me.
The Boomanchu Collection
