Hi and thanks for stopping by!  My name is Christine and I am the owner of Shepherds Grove.  Shepherds Grove is a studio located in Eureka, California, specializing in hand made gifts.  Shepherds Grove started out as a way to celebrate our family's very beloved first German Shepherd, Boomer.  The saddness over his loss was channelled into creativity.  I came up with many ways to surround myself with items bearing his likeness.  And, luckily, another equally wonderful German Shepherd (Dante) now watches over home and family.

As customers purchased my work, they began asking for other breeds, so I obliged them and will continue to add breeds.  So if you don't see your breed, keep checking back! 

Hand painting is done on slab rolled white earthenware pieces, slip cast stoneware, and some commercially available earthenware bisque.  Each piece is carefully decorated.  Due to the nature of hand painting, it is usual to find variations between pieces of the same pattern.  This lends to the charm of hand painted pottery, for every piece is an original and this means that the piece you buy will be unique.

My jewelry is hand made from precious metal clay which is shaped, stamped and fired in a kiln, resulting in a fine silver piece (.999 pure).  I like to accent it with sparkly Czech glass beads or leather cording.  It has a very organic quality to it - not too refined, a little quirky which means it's very fun and versitile for you.
